My husband, Bob, and I met John at an open house as we were looking for another home. John was the realtor at the open house. After touring the home, we told John that this home did not meet our needs which lead to an in-depth questioning of what we wanted and needed by John. A couple of days later we received an e-mail from John telling us of a house that he would like to show us. We set an appointment for that following weekend.
The house met our requirements. But as I explained to John in an e-mail the next day, I needed these same requirements but I wanted them in a WOW house. I did not explain to John what I meant by WOW. In this same e-mail, I complimented John on how he had listened closely to what we had told him as to our needs and he had shown us a house that met the criteria.
A couple of weeks passed and John contacted us again telling us that he had found us a WOW house. And he delivered. After touring the house, Bob and I were excited about this house and we wanted to make an offer on the house but also explained to John that we had received news of a family member's death and that we were leaving that afternoon to attend the funeral and would wait to make the offer upon our return. While we were out of town, someone else made an offer on the house and the seller accepted it.
This did not deter John. He contact every owner in the community who owned this same model and asked if any of them were interested in selling their home as he had a buyer. And one of those owners answered yes. And this home turned out to be more of a WOW house than its sister.
In the meantime, we had listed our home with John to sell and he developed a very aggressive market plan. We sold our home in one month.
Bob and I signed the papers on our WOW house and have so enjoyed it ever since. (less)
